Many people don't know that the constitution of our beloved country allows MR to take oath of office as the new president AFTER his original 6 year term... That means he can rule the country for another 8 bloody years... by which time I'll be around 30, country gone to the dogs & Namal groomed to be the next President...
Now that you mention it... so, I guess we can look forward to another 8yrs of fun and games in Paradise as opposed to a mere 6. Jayawewa!!
ReplyDeleteApparently not. Remember Chandrika got elected in 1999, 5 years after her first election in '94. She only got to stay on till 2005, i.e. another 6 years... :)
ReplyDeleteSigma - Well mate all I can wish u is a... "Suba Anagathayak"... =)
ReplyDeleteChavie - That's because she took the oath right after the election.... I don't think Mahinda will make that mistake... =|
Its 6 years as per the ruling given in CBK's instance.
